This dagger is a beautiful work of traditional North African weaponry art. Koummya is considered a regional variation of the Arabic jambiya dagger. It is characterized by contoured handles, curved double-edged blades, and exaggeratedly upturned scabbard tips. Traditionally, Koummya daggers are worn on the left side at the waist level, vertically suspended, and with the scabbard tip forward. This Koummya was acquired from a Northern Moroccan family who owned it for many generations. Please take a look at other items in our Middle Eastern weaponry collection.
