Vintage Moroccan tribal Koummiya dagger with intricate engravings, dark wood handle, and camel bone inlay. Early 20th century. The mounts are heavily engraved and made of Moroccan silver, which has low to medium silver content. Flared pommel. Curved double-edge blade with a blacksmith mark. The matching engraved scabbard has camel bone inlay. This Koummya still has its woven suspension band. Due to its age, the dagger is worn and the blade is dull. Please inspect pictures carefully.

This dagger is a beautiful work of traditional North African weaponry art. Koummya is considered a regional variation of the Arabic jambiya dagger. It is characterized by contoured handles, curved double-edged blades, and upturned scabbard tips. Traditionally, Koummya daggers are worn on the left side at the waist level, vertically suspended, and with the scabbard tip forward.
