A self-taught artist and poet, Moheb Sadiq began painting in 2011 to create a visual representation of one of his poems. His paintings are an escape from the brutal reality of his long-suffered country into vivid colors and dramatic strokes. This is how the artist describes his unique impressionist style: “I want a city of people having jobs, of busy shops and movement of peace.. This is my desire for Afghanistan.” Sadiq and his brother Mohammad Salim Attaie (also a self-taught artist) are considered pioneers of contemporary Afghani visual arts.
