Beautiful chocolate pot by Josef Riedl, featuring a classical scene. Adorned with intricate ornaments in maroon red and gold. The pot was made in Austria between 1890 to 1910 and is marked on the base with a Royal Vienna mark attributed to Josef Riedl. The classical Greek picture of four women is a transfer print on porcelain, while the red and gold ornaments are hand painted. Please note that lid handle is chipped (see pictures). There is also some expected age-related wear to the gold gilt, but the colors are still incredibly vivid.
