The legacy of Carl Schneider Erben porcelain can be traced back to the 19th century, when the company was founded in 1859 by Carl Schneider, Hermann Hutschenreuther, and Karl Unger, a renowned modeling artist. While many porcelain companies of the time copied existing designs, Carl Schneider Erben created their own, setting them apart in the industry. By 1875, they were exporting their unique tableware, miniature sets, and kitchen utensils, and were recognized at the Santiago World Fair with their first international award. This achievement led to the introduction of the company's first mark - the impressed and uncrowned 'G' mark with the double-headed arrow, which became an iconic symbol of their success. Following the nationalization of the company in 1951, the scissors mark, featured on the offered figurine, became a subtle nod to their family name 'Schneider', meaning 'tailor' in German.
