Maurice le Poitevin's (1886 - 1954) aqua print of a WWI soldier and his dog, titled 'Deux Poilus' (Two Soldiers). The print is dated 1917, signed, and indicates the location of Château de Laffaux, which is associated with the historic Chemin des Dames battle of 1917. The soldier and the dog seem to be returning from this battle.
This is a very rare print of le Poitevin's work. Please note that due to its age the paper has visible areas of spotting and a tier - please inspect the pictures carefully. It is matted and set in a Black Forest wooden frame of the same period.
