Beautiful vintage lamp with an amphora shape. Porcelain body on a brass ormolu base. Intricate floral ornament is hand painted in vibrant shades of purple and gold. The stem of the lamp has a delicate golden embellishment. The brass ormolu base is highly ornamented. There are remnants of gold gilt on the handles. Original brass finial. The lamp is in a very good condition, given its age. No cracks or chips on porcelain and the brass ormolu is intact. Gold gilt on amphora handles has significant age-related wear. There are also some areas of darkening on the upper part of the porcelain body, likely from the continuous exposure to heat. Circa early 1900s.
The lamp has old wiring but it works. Please note that we recommend rewiring antique and vintage lamps with modern wiring.
