A beautiful miniature oil painting on a lacquered box created in the legendary Fedoskino. This is a one-of-a-kind painting, signed by the author in the lower right corner. The signature cannot be clearly read, but there is an inset in Russian inside the box which indicates that the painting was created as a qualifying work for the diploma of the first degree (i.e. diploma with honors) in miniature painting. The artwork features a dreamy landscape with two deers. The amount of detail and the depth of colors are truly amazing. The box is in excellent vintage condition.
