Featuring the intricate botanical engravings of Pierre-Joseph Redouté, this set of four Maitland-Smith prints is a rare find. Each artwork is encased in a matching red tortoise frame and matted with brown leather, with the Maitland-Smith label on the back indicating their handmade origin in the Philippines in the early 1980s. Despite some age-related foxing and spotting, these 19th century pieces are still stunning works of art. Please examine the photos closely for imperfections.

Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759-1840) was known as the 'Raphael of flowers' for his exquisite watercolor paintings of roses, lilies, and other botanical subjects. His work, often reproduced as hand-colored engravings, continues to be admired for its intricate detail and accuracy. As a Belgian artist and royal floral painter, Redouté established himself as a renowned botanical illustrator in the 19th century.
